The current programmatic landscape of the ANPE is focused on building the "resilience" of the Lebanese education system.
A cornerstone of the coalition's current work is the "Education Out Loud" program, funded by the Global Partnership for Education (GPE) fund for advocacy and social accountability, and managed by OXFAM Denmark. This project focuses on several strategic objectives.
Strategic objectives & program components
Institutional and Technical Strengthening
Enhancing the capacity of member organizations to participate in the planning and monitoring of public education policies.
Dialogue and Collaboration
Fostering accountability through structured interactions with local communities, public officials, and international donors.
Documentation of Barriers
Conducting research focused on the educational exclusion of refugee children, children with disabilities, and girls in marginalized communities.
Resource Mobilization
Diversifying financial resources to ensure the coalition's long-term sustainability.
These programs are designed to develop knowledge in diverse areas, enabling participants — particularly women and youth — to achieve better employment opportunities. The project also serves as a training hub for cadres of Palestinian and Lebanese institutions, providing them with the tools necessary to implement popular education methodologies in their own communities.
The (ANPE) is a lead partner in Lebanon in the founding of the Arab House for Adult Learning and Development (AHAED), which brings together four major Arab networks: the Arab Network for Literacy and Adult Education (ANLAE) in Egypt, the Arab Network for Popular Education (ANPE) in Lebanon, the Arab Network for Human Rights Education (ANHRE) in Jordan, and the Arab Campaign for Education for All (ACEA) in Palestine, and the strategic partner the German Adult Education Association (DVVI). This initiative aims to build the capacities of active parties in lobbying and advocacy from a developmental perspective. The initiative also works to renew educational thinking and promote the role of adult learning/education as a cornerstone of sustainable development across the Arab world.
