Zahi Azar is a pioneer in Arab adult education who has spent decades adapting progressive educational philosophies to support marginalized communities facing systemic conflict across the region. As President of the Arab Campaign for Education for All (ACEA) and a foundational force behind ANPE, he specializes in restructuring NGO frameworks to build innovative, human-rights-based learning academies.
National Coordinator
Elsy Wakil is a founding member and the current National Coordinator of the Arab Network for Popular Education / Lebanese Coalition for Education (ANPE/LEC), bringing over two decades of leadership in adult education, peacebuilding, and human rights. She represents the Arab region on major global boards, including the Global Campaign for Education (GCE), focusing her advocacy on education in fragile contexts and strengthening civil society dialogue.
Program Coordinator
Jean Hajjar is an expert, consultant, and current Program Coordinator with ANPE/LEC, with over 30 years of experience spanning development, culture, popular education, and emergency relief programs across the Middle East. He is also an international UNESCO facilitator on intangible heritage and a published author on youth participation, collective memory, and conflict mediation.
